swinging back and forth
as a pendulum
never resting in the center
for more than a breath
swinging high to the left
low to the right
a ceaseless rhythm
of unpredictability
but movement nonetheless
a life paced by the pendulum
til at last time runs out
til then a victim shall i be
for the force of the pendulum
has a hold on me
